Starting your journey as a doula is exciting — but stepping into those first births or postpartum shifts can also feel overwhelming. That’s where our Paid Doula Internship Program comes in. We designed this program to give you hands-on experience, real compensation for your work, and the steady guidance of our experienced Doula Supervisors, so you can transition from training into confident, independent practice.

Earn Your Certification Hours While Getting Paid
With us, you don’t have to choose between gaining experience and earning income. Our interns log their certifying hours in a supportive, structured environment, and get paid while they do it.

Why This Matters for You
Our internship bridges the gap between certification and full-time doula work. You’ll get:

  • Paid, hands-on experience with clients,

  • Support and mentorship from experienced doulas,

  • Confidence in your skills and decision-making,

  • A smoother transition into being a full-time working doula.

With our team walking beside you, you’ll never feel like you’re “figuring it out alone.” Instead, you’ll step into your role as a doula with clarity, courage, and community.

Birth Doula Intern

Birth Doula Internship
You’ll begin by shadowing one of our doulas at a birth, observing how they offer support and collaborate with the care team. From there, you’ll step into the lead doula role with your own client — but you won’t be alone. Your Doula Supervisor will:

  • Join your client’s prenatals and postpartum visits,

  • Be on-call during the birth to guide and support you,

  • Step in as backup if needed.

This means you get the empowering experience of being the lead doula, with the reassurance of having a seasoned guide by your side. Our goal? That by the time you attend your first solo birth, you feel confident, capable, and truly ready.

Postpartum Doula Internship

As a postpartum intern, you’ll be paired with a Doula Supervisor for your first three clients. They’ll help you navigate common challenges — from soothing fussy babies, to supporting recovery, to setting up strong sleep hygiene, to helping families balance rest and routines. Each week, your supervisor will check in with you to answer questions, troubleshoot challenges, and help you grow into your unique style of care.
