For years, new doulas have often been expected to volunteer their time in exchange for experience. We don’t believe someone’s path into this profession should depend on whether they can afford to work for free.
So we’ve built a paid internship program.
Arkansas Doulas invests directly into our interns through paid birth and postpartum opportunities, mentorship, supervision, continuing education, and hands-on learning.
Now we’re inviting our community to invest alongside us.

Our commitment is simple: Doulas should be paid for Doula work.
Community sponsorship designated for our internship program will be used to support paid internship opportunities and the direct costs of preparing, mentoring, and supporting interns in their work with families.
As this program grows, we are committed to sharing its impact with our community, including the number of interns supported, paid internship hours completed, families served, and the communities reached.
